Fundraising
So far this year, our incredible community has rallied together across a variety of events to help us grant wishes and bring comfort to brave children and their families.
August 2026
A huge thank you to Roxie, who completed the The Lurig Run which is a tough mountain race up and around the Lurig Mountain in County Antrim, Cushendall (Ireland). The route is just over 5 miles, with an inclined run to the base of the mountain and then a climb up the mountain rising to around 1075 feet. There is a steep ascent up the mountain and then a long slide down the other side. Roxie took on this challenge to raise money for trust and was delighted that she raised an amazing £510.00.
Earlier this year, we had the privilege of supporting Roxie's niece and, after seeing the difference that support made to her family, Roxie wanted to give something back and support our charity.
The Eve Shipley Trust Family Fun Day - July 2026
Once again, thank you to everyone who came along to our Family Fun Day.
We are delighted to share that, thanks to your incredible support, we raised an amazing £6,250!!
This money will make a real difference to children receiving cancer treatment and their families, helping us continue to provide support when it is needed most. We truly cannot thank you enough.
None of this would have been possible without everyone who attended, took part, donated, or volunteered their time to help make the day such a success.
Well done to the team at the Pavilion who worked really hard, we know it was extremely busy for you!
A special thank you to everyone who kindly donated delicious cakes for our cake stall – it was greatly appreciated.
Another special thank you to Caroline Cooper for presenting the trophies to the winners of the Ashbourne Dash. Caroline kindly chose The Eve Shipley Trust as one of her chosen charities during her time as Mayor of Ashbourne last year, and we are incredibly grateful for her continued support.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to all of our Event Sponsors and Ashbourne Dash Sponsors. Your generosity and support helped make this event possible, and we are so grateful to have you behind The Eve Shipley Trust.

June 2026
Thank you to Matthew Wrigley for raising over £5,000 for the trust. An incredible amount raised and a massive challenge, Matthew took on the Ironman challenge in Poland in June.
Matthew said: This was one of my proudest moments. Firstly raising over £5000 for an amazing charity, which I thank everyone for all the amazing donations.
The event itself was amazing, the swim was a struggle after nearly having a panic attack after 6 minutes, the ride I was unsure on how I'd perform as I had never rode that distance and have only ever rode about 300km in my life and finally the run, I was hoping for around 2 hours but again had no idea how my legs would feel after the ride. Overall it took me 6 hours 5 mins which I’m happy with but also have lots of areas I could improve.

Lewis raised an incredible £1400.00 by taking on the challenge of having his hair shaved! ✂️
We can definitely understand that it’s going to take some getting used to — especially feeling the cold without his usual layer of thatch!
A huge thank you to Lewis and to every single person who donated, supported and shared his fundraising journey. We’ve been completely blown away by the response. 💜
